Visit Our "Living Classroom"
The Pork Interpretive Gallery (P.I.G.) is a 5000 sq ft educational gallery buile on a commercial farrow to finish hog operation at Elstow, SK. This barn houses 6200 pigs and offers a variety of learning opportunities in the areas of science, social sciences, math and english.
Guided tours of the P.I.G. open a window to the Saskatchewan pork industry and offer the opporutnity for sutdnets to learn in a "living classroom". Students will learn about animal agriculture and the people who work in this field. You will see how producers from different farming sectors work together, and the role they have in developing sustainable agriculture practices.
Tours are typically 1 1/2 hours in length and must be booked in advance. There is no charge for the tour and a $50 bus subsidy is available to school groups to offset travel costs.

In-Class Presentations
If you are unable to travel to the Pork Interpretive gallery, allow us to come to you! In-class presentations are considered on a per request bases and are customized for age/grade and content!
Resources
We offer several resources for different age groups. resources may be ordered on an individual basis or as a package in our Teacher's Resource Kit. The teacher's resource kit contains a compilation of our resource library including activity ideas and our Piggy Rap DVD (a 3 minute DVD on hog production).
